Do You Want to Make Money Online?

Posted on April 13, 2009

I’m teaching myself how to make money online and I have been making progress… veeeerrrry slooooowly.

I read, I make a website, I read some more, check stats, check earnings, CRAP!! … repeat.

I don’t give up easily and I refuse to pay some joker for something I can get for free from Griz or Court. I realize that I lack a system and my efforts have been a bit willy nilly, things are coming together but the phone rings, kids need this or that, gotta take mom to the store, WORK, etc… I am now realizing that I have several major road blocks to making money online. In time I could probably work them out but, I get impatient. When I get impatient I tend to act on impulse rather than on calculated, focused effort and this gets me into trouble and waists time and money. The hurrier I go the behinder I get.

So I decided to sign up for Court’s Keyword Academy.

After watching the first two videos I had learned a system and had resolved one of my major roadblocks, keyword selection. If I had signed up two months ago, and seen just these two videos, I would have saved myself weeks of work and at least $200.

After reading Court’s blog for a year or so I know I can trust him and considering what I’ve learned so far for free, I WANT to pay him out of gratitude. Besides, it makes sense that a guy at his level would not give out all the treats on the free blog. It costs $30 a month, however, as of this post I believe you can get in for $1 for the first month.

I don’t know of any business that doesn’t incur some type of expense and considering the cost of a domain name and a hosting service is less than a $100 a year, this business of internet marketing is probably the most affordable business around. $30 a month is squat, my dad’s accounting business cost him $20,000 a month to run.

I’ve been at this for close to a year now and I’ve read everything – Griz, Court and Vic to name a few. Justin Briggs a Nashville SEO has (had) some REALLY great stuff on his old blog. But these guys are pros and  though you could probably find everything you need on their websites keep in mind that these are blogs so all the information is not in order or laid out specifically for a to z, do this, now do that  consumption. I’ve seen the “information overload” syndrome mentioned more than a few times and it does exist. Each successful blogger has his or her own system for making money and unless you have a photographic memory it can be difficult if not impossible to put it all together in order to find your own way.

If you are struggling to make money online, do yourself a favor and sign up for the Keyword Academy. Here you will find what you need in an a – z, do this, now do that, made for easy digestion format. If you don’t like it you can quit. If you believe in your business then it is probably worth a little investment.

  • Hey Norman,
Are you finding the academy useful? I probably won’t go there myself but I find the concept interesting… Do people engage in much networking, linking, etc? or is it more informational? I think a lot of people would benefit from the information side but I’m probably more inclined towards meeting people who I can work with. Connect Content is doing good things for me at the moment.

  • Hey Bear,
The KWA has a fairly comprehensive forum and though networking can be done it is not the main focus. They actually recommend Connect Content and Unique Article Wizard as well as Griz’s niche-support for those that are ready to take the next step. It’s very informational, mostly for those who are looking for linear instructions to get started making money online.

BTW, your new site design is awesome.

  • Hey Norm,
Thx for the nice feedback on the design :)
BTW should install ‘Subscribe To Comments’ plugin – at least that’s the one I’m using. Helps keep the comment conversation going.
